Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Architectural Glass Products – Waikato District, North Island

AGP is where advanced manufacturing, innovation and glass come together.

Architectural Glass Products is one of New Zealand’s leading high tech glass manufacturers, producing premium Insulated Glass Units from our purpose built, world class facility in Cambridge, just 15 minutes from Hamilton.

With advanced automation, modern manufacturing technology and a strong focus on quality, reliability and continuous improvement, AGP is helping set the standard for modern manufacturing in New Zealand.

AGP is part of the wider APL Group, New Zealand’s market leader in window and door systems, giving our people the backing, scale and stability of one of the country’s leading manufacturing groups.

Inwards Operator

There is a lot of glass moving through AGP every day, and before production can do its job, someone needs to make sure it is unloaded, handled safely and ready to go.

That is where our Inwards team comes in.

We are looking for anInwards Operatorto join our permanent day shift team.

This is a practical, hands on role responsible for devanning containers of incoming glass, safely moving and storing large packs of glass and preparing our loading cages so the production shifts coming in behind you have the glass they need ready to go.

It is an important role. If Inwards does not get it right, production feels it.

What you will get stuck into
  • Devanning shipping containers of incoming glass
  • Safely unloading and handling large packs and sheets of glass
  • Using gantry and material handling equipment to move glass around the Inwards area
  • Checking incoming glass for damage and identifying anything that does not look right
  • Sorting and positioning glass into the correct storage locations
  • Loading and preparing glass cages ready for incoming production shifts
  • Making sure the right glass is in the right place when production needs it
  • Keeping the Inwards and glass storage areas organised, clean and safe
  • Working closely with the wider production team to keep glass flowing through the factory
  • Following strict safety procedures when working around glass, machinery and lifting equipment
The kind of person we are looking for

We are more interested in finding someone who is reliable, practical and comfortable doing physical work in a busy manufacturing environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience devanning containers or unloading incoming materials would be an advantage
  • Forklift, gantry or other material handling experience would be useful
  • Confidence working around large and heavy materials
  • Good attention to detail
  • A strong approach to health and safety
  • The ability to work efficiently while still doing the job properly
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and a willingness to get stuck in
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Full training will be provided on our glass handling processes, equipment and systems.

Why AGP?

Because this is not your average warehouse.

You will be working inside one of New Zealand’s most advanced glass manufacturing facilities, surrounded by modern equipment, automation and a large scale manufacturing operation.

You will also receive:

  • Starting rate of$29.00 per hour
  • Full training on our equipment and safe glass handling processes
  • A supportive team environment
  • Opportunities to develop and grow within AGP

The Inwards team sets up what happens next.
