Job summary

PlaceMakers Christchurch in Te Anau is seeking a proactive inventory controller to join our team. This permanent full-time role focuses on managing stock levels, processing deliveries, and supporting Yard & Drive Thru operations to ensure smooth daily branch activity.

You will track stock using internal systems, handle returns and discrepancies, and deliver outstanding service to trade, business, and homeowner customers. A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management, stock control, or inward goods in retail/trade/distribution.
• Strong computer literacy and numerical skills; quick to learn new systems and processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and a natural ability to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Track, process, and record daily deliveries using internal systems and tools.
• Manage special orders and communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Receive and check incoming stock, investigate discrepancies, resolve out-of-stock items.
• Process product returns, repairs and warranty claims, with follow-up.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to trade, business and homeowner customers.
• Support the wider branch team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
