Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Christchurch is offering a Summer Intern position for a Data Analyst to work onsite at Orchard Rd facility. You will support scoping and development of digital visualization tools for engine maintenance workflows.

You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems like SAP and Solumina, and learn to transform data into actionable insights using Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Data Science undergraduate program.
• Familiar with data models and database systems.
• Willing to learn new skills to support project activities.
• Independent and self-motivated with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scoping and development of process enhancements and Digital Visualization tools.
• Use data analysis, manipulation and representation to assist teams in engine maintenance processes.
• Leverage data sets within SAP, Solumina, Excel and web-based platforms.
• Provide digital integration support with new technologies and MS Excel, Data Bricks, Power BI; SQL/Python/Java where needed.
• Coach and share digital knowledge with team members.
• Collaborate with DT and Process Engineering to align solutions with core tools.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidates will assist with scoping and development of process enhancements and Digital Visualization and Presentation tools of production status for Jet Engine Maintenance and Repair activities. These tools will enhance process efficiency, provide scalability and improved work prioritization.
• The role will be mainly focused on: Using data analysis, manipulation and representation to assist Teams to efficiently manage the engine maintenance processes.
• Leveraging existing data sets within enterprise platforms such as SAP, Solumina, excel and web based.
• Provide digital integration assistance with new technologies. Tool utilization may include advanced MSExcel, Data Bricks (enterprise data lake), knowledge and experience in PowerBI & coding languages such as SQL, Python, Java etc.
• Provide coaching and general digital knowledge building to team members.
• Partner with Internal DT and Process Engineering to ensure solution alignment to core business tools.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Data Science undergraduate program or similar
• Are familiar with data models and database systems.
• Are willing to learn new skills to be able to support the project activities assigned.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and think outside the box Results focused and able to communicate well with a broad range of internal and external customers.
• Have excellent listening, communication, and documentation skills.
• Have the ability to quickly integrate and operate within an established team.
• Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
• Must be able / willing to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol test.
