Job summary

Titus Consulting Engineers in Tauranga is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role covers office-based design, drafting and on-site construction monitoring for a mix of commercial and residential developments.

You will work with a collaborative team, communicate with clients, and contribute to the delivery of practical structural solutions while pursuing CPEng registration as part of our development pathway.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently on varied residential and industrial developments.
• Proficiency in SPACE GASS, Mathcad and AutoCAD; Revit a plus.
• Experience with 2D technical drawings and CAD translation.

Responsibilities

• Designs and drafts structural elements for residential and commercial projects.
• Monitors construction on-site and ensures compliance with NZ Building Code.
• Collaborates with team and clients across Hamilton and Tauranga offices.

The Role: Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are looking for an Intermediate Structural engineer to be a key part of our Tauranga team. This position involves a mix of office-based design, drafting and construction monitoring. Our work includes a wide range of projects for commercial and residential developments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for an engineer capable of working independently on small residential sites to large-scale residential and industrial developments.

Technical Requirements

• Design & Standards: Designing structures for houses and commercial buildings that comply with the NZ Building Code and NZ Standards.

• Software: Proficiency in SPACE GASS, Mathcad, and AutoCAD. Experience with Revit (3D) is a plus.

• Drafting: Ability to create 2D technical drawings for your own designs and translate others' sketches/calculations into CAD.

• Credentials: A background that supports working toward CPEng registration.

• Documentation: Ability to use MS Office for reporting and calculation management.

Candidate Profile:

• Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work across a team and directly with clients to meet projects across our Hamilton and Tauranga offices.
