Job summary

Brownie Construction is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join its Queenstown team, working across commercial and residential projects from construction through to handover. You will manage variations, cost reporting, subcontractor claims and day-to-day commercial needs on active sites.

You’ll collaborate with project and site teams, monitor cost movements, assist with procurement, and apply NZ contracts (NZS 3910/3916/3917).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in NZ construction.
• Experience on commercial and/or residential projects.
• Solid understanding of NZ contracts and cost control.
• Confident with variations, claims and cost reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and organised workflow.
• Excellent Excel and data handling skills.
• Ability to work with site teams, subcontractors and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Manage variations and track project cost movements.
• Prepare progress claims and monthly cost reports.
• Review subcontractor claims and prepare payment schedules.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and package coordination.
• Support forecasting and broader commercial reporting.
• Monitor scope changes and cost implications.
• Work with NZ contracts (NZS 3910/3916/3917).
