The People Place in Auckland is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical and Civil Engineer to work on dams, water storage and complex infrastructure across New Zealand. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical analysis and technical design across a range of projects.
• Take design work from concept through to construction.

• Engage clients, project partners and your own project team through strong stakeholder management.

Intermediate Geotechnical and Civil Engineer

My client is an established New Zealand engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence and a pipeline of complex, high-value projects. Their work spans geotechnical, dam and water engineering and infrastructure, and their engineers get close to the technical thinking rather than sitting on the edge of it.

Working locally and across New Zealand, you'll work on dams, water storage and large, complex infrastructure, alongside experienced senior and principal engineers who'll review your work and genuinely back your development. It's the kind of environment where new ideas and fresh thinking are genuinely welcome.

This is an intermediate role for a geotechnical and civil engineer who wants to get deep into design. As you grow, you'll take on more day-to-day technical leadership, build your own client relationships, and help lift the junior engineers around you.

What you'll do

What you'll bring

• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar
• Experience in geotechnical and civil engineering, with real analysis and design content
• Exposure to dams, water or complex infrastructure is a strong plus
• Confidence with geotechnical software such as Slope/W, Wallap or similar
• New Zealand consulting experience preferred
• The ability to own and deliver design packages with senior review
• Confident technical report writing
• A collaborative, team-first attitude and confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders
