About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Insurance Underwriting Manager to lead their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing a balance between essential in-office collaboration and the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting process, ensuring profitability, and maintaining underwriting standards across various insurance products. This leadership position requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of underwriting principles, and the ability to manage and motivate a team of underwriters. Your expertise will be critical in assessing risks, setting appropriate premiums, and contributing to the company's overall financial success. You will also be involved in developing and refining underwriting guidelines and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor a team of insurance underwriters.

• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote and office-based responsibilities.
