Job summary

Awnings & Covers Limited, a Tauranga-based manufacturer and installer of aluminium pergolas, canopies, awnings and outdoor structures, is hiring a capable installer with solid hands-on experience. No formal trade qualification is required, but you must be confident using tools, reading plans and measurements, solving on-site problems, and working independently.

Experience in construction, roofing, joinery or similar is well suited.

Qualifications

• No formal trade qualification required; can work from plans and measurements.
• Solid hands-on experience on-site is expected.
• Reliable worker who takes pride in their work and uses good practical judgement.
• Must be able to work with customers and handle on-site problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Install aluminium pergolas, canopies and awnings at customer sites in the Bay of Plenty.
• Work from plans, drawings and measurements.
• Set out, measure and prepare sites for installation.
• Use hand and power tools to install products and modify as needed.
• Work outdoors and at heights, following safety practices.
• Collaborate with customers and workshop when required.
• Support site coordination and learn products and systems for future responsibilities.

The role

The majority of your time will be spent installing our products on customer sites throughout the Bay of Plenty.

You'll be involved in:

• Installing aluminium pergolas, canopies and awnings
• Working from plans, drawings and measurements
• Setting out, measuring and preparing sites
• Using hand and power tools
• Aluminium cutting, drilling, fitting and modification
• Working outdoors and at heights
• Solving practical problems on site
• Working directly with customers
• Workshop preparation when required

About you

We're looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work and has good practical judgement.

You'll be someone who:

• Communicates well with customers and team members
• Holds a current driver's license
• Is willing to learn

You don't need to know our products when you start - we'll teach you how we do things.
