Job summary

Engage Recruitment Support in Hawke’s Bay is seeking two Infrastructure Engineers to join its internal IT Operations team for a 12‑month fixed term. You’ll work on network rollouts, SD‑WAN activity, and server/storage projects, reporting to senior engineers and a project manager with clear change processes.

Roles vary from intermediate to senior, offering hands-on delivery, BAU support, and problem solving in a live production environment. Strong collaboration and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Practical experience across infrastructure, networking or server support.
• Exposure to switches, WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls or VLANs.
• Experience with Windows Server or server and storage environments.
• Confidence working within a live production environment.
• Ability to pick up assigned work and see it through without close supervision.
• Good judgement about when to troubleshoot independently and when to escalate.
• Clear communication and reliable documentation habits.
• Willingness to contribute across project work and BAU support.

Responsibilities

• Supporting network, switch, and SD-WAN rollout activity.
• Assisting with infrastructure refresh and implementation work.
• Supporting server and storage environments.
• Troubleshooting network, server, and infrastructure issues.
• Completing BAU support, tickets, and follow-up work.
• Working from agreed instructions, change plans, and runbooks.
• Testing and validating completed work.
• Documenting changes, outcomes, and handover information.
• Communicating progress, risks, and blockers clearly.
• Escalating higher-risk or complex issues to senior engineers.
