Job summary
Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay is seeking a capable Industrial Painter to join a leading engineering company performing industrial painting and coating work in Palmerston North. We’re after someone practical, hands-on and confident with tools.
Previous painting or industrial painting experience is preferred, but engineers or trades with the right tickets and strong hands-on skills are welcome. Start is immediate and the role is on-site in Palmerston North.

- Current EWP ticket and WAH ticket required.
- Painting or industrial painting experience preferred.
- Candidates from engineering or trades with the right tickets are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Assist with industrial painting and coating work.
- Prepare steel and other surfaces prior to painting.
- Use hand and power tools safely and confidently.
- Work from EWPs and at heights.
- Mask, clean and prepare work areas.
- Assist experienced painters and tradespeople.
- Maintain high workmanship and safety procedures.

We're after someone who is practical, switched on and confident working with their hands. Previous painting, industrial painting or coatings experience is preferred, but we’re also interested in people from engineering, construction or similar trades who have the right tickets and a strong practical skillset.

- Assisting with industrial painting and coating work
- Preparing steel and other surfaces prior to painting
- Using hand and power tools safely and confidently
- Working from EWPs and at heights
- Masking, cleaning and preparing work areas
- Assisting experienced industrial painters and tradespeople
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Following site and engineering health & safety procedures
- Current EWP ticket
- Current Working at Heights (WAH) ticket
- Painting or industrial painting experience preferred
- Strong practical or trades-based skills
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- Comfortable working at heights
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to work as part of a crew
- Able to pass apre-employment drug test
- Clean police record
- Available for animmediate start
- Work with aleading Hawke’s Bay engineering company in the Manawatu
- Put your practical skills and current tickets to good use
- Gain valuable experience in industrial painting and engineering
- Work alongside an experienced, skilled crew
