Job summary

Silver Fern Farms Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer - Reliability for our Pacific Site near Hastings, New Zealand.

You will maximise plant reliability through planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, and continuous improvement, working with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and boost asset performance. The role is a day shift (6:00am–3:00pm) with a five-day week, rostered weekend work with extra allowances on Saturdays/Sundays and overtime for weekday offs.

• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and industrial maintenance.
• Practical problem-solving ability and sound judgement under pressure.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Organised, with the ability to prioritise in a busy plant environment.

Description

TeTūranga/About the Role:

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer - Reliability to join our Engineering team at our Pacific Site near Hastings.

In this role, you'll help maximise plant reliability through planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, equipment repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you'll play an important part in reducing downtime and improving asset performance across the site.

Working Hours and Roster:

This is a day shift role, working 6:00am–3:00pm. The normal rostered 5 day working week includes Saturday and Sunday, with rostered days off during the week. An allowance applies to rostered Saturday and Sunday shifts, and any hours worked on a rostered weekday off are paid at overtime rates.

We'relooking for someone with solid trade skillswho'skeen to solve problems and keep things moving. Ideally,you'llhave experience in food processing or industrial engineering, butabove allyou'llbring a practical mindset, strong teamwork, and the drive to get the job done.
