AFFCO is a leading player in New Zealand’s meat industry, supplying quality products to the world. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team at our Wairoa plant.

In this pivotal role you will be the backbone of daily operations, ensuring high-tech processing machinery and site infrastructure operate at peak performance to minimize downtime. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, work with PLCs and automation,

Qualifications

• Proactive approach to minimise downtime in production.
• Strong time management to prioritise multiple maintenance tasks.
• Organisational skills to plan daily routines.
• Commitment to health and safety standards in all tasks.
• Strong problem-solving abilities for complex diagnostics.
• NZQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent held.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding and repair on processing machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems.
• Preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• PLC, VSD and automation work to optimise plant efficiency.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• Adhere to Health & Safety protocols and electrical standards.
