Job summary
TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an Industrial Electrician to own the electrical side of a Rolleston operation, focusing on power distribution, control systems, and automation. The role emphasizes keeping systems running and reducing downtime through proactive maintenance and quick fault resolution.
The ideal candidate has a NZ electrical licence, experience in heavy industrial settings, PLC exposure, and a proactive safety mindset. Monday–Friday day shift, with optional after-hours calls.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current New Zealand electrical practising licence.
- Solid experience maintaining electrical systems in manufacturing, timber, or heavy industrial settings.
- Exposure to PLCs and industrial automation/control systems.
- Confidence managing contractors and suppliers on project work.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and install electrical power and control equipment.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns to keep production moving.
- Shape and run the site’s Preventative Maintenance Programme.
- Fault finding across PLCs and control systems.
- Lead installation and project work; liaise with suppliers and contractors.
- Keep electrical stock and consumables stocked on hand.
- Collaborate with Engineering Manager, engineers and department managers.
