Job summary

Jora New Zealand seeks an experienced Indian Chef specialising in curry and tandoor to join a busy restaurant team in Auckland. You will produce authentic flavours while crafting innovative dishes that stand out from typical Indian restaurants.

Requirements include 3+ years in Indian cuisine, strong curry and tandoor skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Must have NZ residency or an open work visa with unrestricted rights.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' professional experience preparing Indian cuisine, preferably 3–4 years or more.
• Strong experience in both curry and tandoor sections.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Creative approach to developing dishes that stand out from standard Indian restaurant offerings.
• Strong understanding of Indian spices, marinades and traditional cooking techniques.
• Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Must hold New Zealand residency or an open work visa with unrestricted work rights.
