Job summary

Rosehill School in Auckland is seeking a Drama Tutor to plan, develop and deliver structured drama tuition to children and adult learners, individually and in groups.

You will teach acting techniques, voice, movement and stage performance, assess progress, tailor programmes, and prepare students for showcases and exams. The role also involves coordinating student performances and supporting community events, while upholding safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification at level 7 bachelor’s degree or higher equivalent to a New Zealand qualification.
• Or have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop structured programmes of study in drama theory, practice and performance for individuals and groups.
• Provide theoretical and practical drama tuition to children and adults, covering acting techniques, voice, movement, improvisation and stage craft.
• Assess and develop students’ abilities and progress, adapting lessons to learning needs and providing feedback.
• Prepare students for performances, showcases, auditions and other assessments, and coordinate rehearsals and events.
• Regularly review curriculum and teaching methods to meet student progress and learning outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and ensure student wellbeing during lessons and performances.
• Organise and support student performances and community events, including stage management and resource preparation.
