Job summary

Fletcher Construction is seeking a Permit & Utilities Coordinator to join Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi). You will coordinate permits, work authorisations, utility clearances and stakeholder approvals to keep the project moving safely and compliantly.

Working with construction teams, subcontractors, utility providers and authorities, you will ensure all approvals and documentation are in place before works commence, supporting a complex transport and infrastructure

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating permits, utility approvals, work authorisations and related activities.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and asset information.
• Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, utilities or local government.
• Strong health and safety understanding and permit-to-work knowledge.
• Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management.
• Strong administration and maintaining permit registers and compliance records.
• Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with project systems and reporting tools.
• Strong communication to build relationships across site teams, contractors and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain permit registers, tracking systems and project documentation.
• Coordinate and manage permits, approvals and work authorisations for project activities.
• Review planned works and confirm all permit requirements, clearances and approvals are in place before work commences.
• Liaise with utility owners, service authorities, councils and other stakeholders to secure approvals and resolve permit-related issues.
• Coordinate utility clearances, service isolations and access requirements.
• Conduct site visits to confirm compliance with permit conditions and project requirements.
• Support construction teams by identifying risks, constraints and approval requirements before works begin.
• Work closely with project delivery, health and safety, subcontractor and stakeholder teams to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
