Job summary

Fletcher Construction is seeking a Permit & Utilities Coordinator in Wellington to drive permit administration, utility clearances and approvals for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi). You’ll work with construction teams, utility providers and authorities to ensure approvals are in place before work begins.

You will maintain registers, review plans, manage service isolations and liaise with regulators to keep projects moving safely and compliantly.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating permits, utility approvals, work authorisations, corridor access requests, service isolations or similar activities.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and asset information.
• Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, transport, utilities, water, power, telecommunications, local government or related industries.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, risk assessment and permit-to-work processes.
• Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong administration skills and experience maintaining permit registers, trackers and compliance records.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with project systems and reporting tools.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across site teams, contractors, utility providers and regulatory authorities.

About the Role

In this role you will be focused on coordinating permits, work authorisations, utility clearances and stakeholder approvals to ensure works can proceed safely, compliantly and efficiently. Working closely with construction teams, subcontractors, utility providers, local authorities and project stakeholders, you'll help keep the project moving by ensuring all required approvals, documentation and controls are in place before work begins.

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme.
