Job summary

Christians Against Poverty NZ seeks a seasoned Financial Mentor to deliver CAP’s Debt Help service to individuals and whānau across Aotearoa. You will guide clients with practical, client-centred support and work alongside coaches to move toward long-term financial stability.

Reporting to the Financial Mentor Manager, you’ll provide solutions in line with CAP frameworks, balancing strategic and operational priorities while growing professionally in a meaningful role that supports communities in

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Financial Mentor.
• Familiarity with financial institutions, systems and practices in Aotearoa (NZ).
• Familiarity with wellbeing, social work or related sectors and services.
• Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills as they relate to Financial Mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Support clients throughout their CAP journey.
• Identify client needs and provide tailored support for long-term financial wellbeing.
• Collaborate within CAP’s Team of 3 model (Financial Mentor, Coach, Client).
• Manage a caseload of clients.
