Job summary

Meridian Energy is seeking an Identity Governance Tech Lead for a 12-month fixed-term contract to shape and deploy governance for priority systems. You will work in an identity squad to design, configure and roll out governance capabilities with security, infrastructure, and vendor partners.

You will simplify access governance by enabling self-service for system owners, establishing guardrails, and standardising joiner/mover/leaver processes while ensuring proper entitlements and approvals

Qualifications

• Experience in identity governance or IGA initiatives in medium-to-large organisations.
• Hands-on configuration experience with IGA platforms preferred.
• Ability to translate business needs into roles, entitlements and workflows.

• Design onboarding for governed systems including access models, approvals and certifications.

We are looking for an Identity Governance Tech Lead for a 12-month fixed term contract to help turn Meridian’s identity governance and administration platform into practical, sustainable business outcomes. Working in an identity squad, you will design, configure and roll out governance capabilities for priority systems, partnering with security, infrastructure, application teams, vendors and system owners.

You will make governed access easier to request, approve, review and evidence, helping ensure the right people have the right access at the right time while reducing manual effort and strengthening assurance.

Āu mahi | What you’ll be doing

• Delivering Meridian’s identity governance uplift by translating strategic direction into practical platform configuration, processes and adoption.
• Designing repeatable onboarding for governed systems, including access models, entitlements, approvals, certifications and owner responsibilities.
• Enable system owner self-service through clear guardrails, simple processes and meaningful business language.
• Simplify and standardise joiner, mover, leaver, access request, approval and periodic review processes.
• Work with the identity squad to onboard approximately three major Meridian systems during 2027.
• Configure and roll out SailPoint, or a comparable IGA platform, with internal teams and delivery partners.
• Translate business needs into roles, entitlements, workflows, access profiles, policies, certifications and reporting.
• Experience delivering or materially contributing to identity governance, access management or IGA initiatives in a medium-to-large organisation.
• Practical understanding of SailPoint or a comparable IGA platform. Hands-on configuration experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, access requests and approvals, roles, entitlements, access reviews, segregation of duties and privileged access governance.
• Working knowledge of Entra ID, Active Directory, authentication, directory synchronisation, APIs, SCIM and common enterprise integration approaches.
• Ability to analyse access data, translate entitlements into business meaning, identify governance gaps and support remediation.
