Job summary

Smart Mobile Limited is seeking a customer-focused ICT Support Technician to join our team at Wanganui and Taumarunui stores. This full-time role involves hands-on hardware support for laptops, smartphones, tablets and desktops, with in-person and remote service.

You will install, configure and repair devices while delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of relevant experience (or Level 4 IT/electronics), strong hardware knowledge and great communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience or a Level 4 IT/electronics qualification.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and mobile devices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and repair hardware across devices.
• Troubleshoot faults in laptops, desktops, tablets and mobiles.
• Assist customers at the front desk with service tickets and enquiries.
• Provide in-person and remote (phone) support to resolve issues.
• Maintain service records and follow internal processes.
• Stay updated on consumer IT hardware trends.

Pay Rate: $27-$34 per hour (based on experience)

Smart Mobile Limited is seeking customer-focused ICT Support Technicians to join our team full-time at our Wanganui and Taumarunui stores. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with hands-on experience in computer and mobile hardware support and a passion for delivering high-quality technical service.

The ideal candidate will provide support and maintenance of various systems and peripherals by installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware. You will work directly with customers to resolve technical issues across a range of digital devices including laptops, smartphones, tablets, and desktops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installing and configuring software, operating systems, and drivers on various devices.
• Testing, diagnosing, and repairing faults in laptops, desktops, MacBooks, smartphones, tablets, and iPads.
• Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and peripheral issues.
• Assisting customers at the front desk with service ticket creation and basic product or service enquiries.
• Delivering excellent in-person and remote (phone-based) customer service.
• Managing multiple support requests efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining accurate service records and following internal processes.
• Staying updated with the latest developments in consumer IT hardware and support practices.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum of2years’ verifiable relevant work experience,or aLevel 4 (or higher) qualificationin IT, electronics, Computer applications or a related field.
• Strong practical knowledge of computer hardware, mobile devices, and operating systems.
• Customer-facing experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to work on a flexible roster, including weekends if required.
