Job summary

Woolworths Group in New Zealand seeks an ICT Support Technician to repair and maintain laptops, mobile devices, tablets, and peripherals. You will diagnose problems, install and configure hardware and software, and provide customer-facing technical support.

Hours are 30–45 per week with pay rates of NZD 29–35 per hour, depending on experience. Two positions available; rosters may include weekends and public holidays, with opportunities to learn and grow in a busy retail IT environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more of relevant work experience in IT or electronics or any technical work
• Relevant Level 5 qualification (IT/electronics/Technician) can be considered in-lieu of work experience above
• Hold some knowledge repairing and maintaining mobile devices
• Have understanding of repairing laptops, mobile phones, computers, notepads and other electronic goods
• Good understanding of computers and communication devices
• Willingness to work roaster shifts including weekend and public holidays
• Able to work overtime if needed
• Interact appropriately with a wide range of people
• Solid judgment skills
• Hands-on approach and a willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Quality inspection and auditing
• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Assemble and disassemble computers, laptops and other devices
• Assist clients to resolve issues by face-to-face discussions or over the telephone
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
• Replacing parts as required
• Providing specific business IT advice to commercial and business customers
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports to senior members of the company
• Supporting the roll-out of new applications/setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
• Responding within agreed time limit to call outs
• Working continuously on task until completion
• Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals
• Testing and evaluation new technologies
• Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment
• Configuration of client’s equipment to connect to the internet via modem/DSL/router
• Diagnose and Repair apple, Android and window phone
• Assisting senior members of staff, as required.
• Keep the shop nice and tidy
• Deal with customers in a daily basis and resolve the issues/complaints if any
• Protect employees and customers by providing safe and clean store environment. Ensure all health and safety standards are met.

Job description

The ICT Support Technician is responsible for high-quality repair and maintenance service for a variety of IT devices including laptops, mobile phones, notepads, ICT peripherals, tablets, desktop computers and other electronic goods by diagnosing problems, installing, configuring and troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems.

The employee’s tasks and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• To do such other duties as the Manager/Director may from time to time direct
