Job summary

GHD is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to contribute design and technical input to building services projects across NZ and APAC. You will design electrical systems, support multidisciplinary teams, and help deliver projects from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelors in electrical engineering, 3–5 years' experience with power, lighting and low-voltage distribution, proficiency in AGI-32 and PowerCAD, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 3–5 years electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with power, lighting and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Experience with ICT systems.
• Experience preparing design documentation, reports and specifications.
• Proficiency with AGI-32 and PowerCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Client engagement and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• CPEng or actively working towards professional registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver building services electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and low-voltage systems.
• Contribute to communications, ICT, fire systems and associated building infrastructure.
• Prepare design documentation, technical reports and specifications in line with GHD and client requirements.
• Support project planning, design development, construction-phase activities and site-based services where required.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support the preparation of proposals and bids and respond to project opportunities.
• Work across New Zealand and Australian projects, with opportunities to support wider APAC delivery.
