Job summary

GHD is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to contribute to building services design across Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. You will design electrical systems, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support from planning through construction.

You will prepare design documents, reports and specifications, engage clients, and help develop proposals. A 3–5 year track record in building services and proficiency with AGI-32/PowerCAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 3–5 years electrical engineering experience in building services.
• Experience with power, lighting and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Experience with ICT systems.
• Proven ability to deliver multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience preparing design documentation and reports.
• Experience using AGI-32 and PowerCAD.

GHD is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington.

In this role, you will contribute electrical design and technical input to multidisciplinary property, buildings and infrastructure projects, supporting delivery through project planning, design and construction phases.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ electrical engineering experience, with 3 to 5 years preferred.
• Building services electrical design experience.
• Experience with power, lighting and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Experience with ICT systems.
• Multidisciplinary project delivery experience.
• Experience preparing design documentation, reports and specifications.
• Experience using AGI-32 and PowerCAD software packages.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Client engagement and stakeholder management capability.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Security system design experience would be advantageous.
• Construction-phase support or site-based services experience would be advantageous.
• CPEng or actively working towards professional registration is preferred.
