Job summary

New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is seeking an HRIS Advisor to administer and optimise our HRIS and payroll platforms, including Jemini the HRIS/payroll system. You will manage configurations, data integrity, testing, and upgrades while delivering high-quality dashboards and reports from workforce data to support decision-making across the organisation.

You will collaborate with teams to improve processes and automate where possible, ensuring accurate data and reliable system

Qualifications

  • Proven experience administering and optimising HRIS and payroll systems, including configuration, access management, testing, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Understanding of payroll-system processes, controls, data requirements, and integrations to diagnose issues.
  • Strong analytical capability using workforce and payroll data to develop insightful reports and dashboards.
  • Experience with databases, data validation, reporting tools, and data visualisation; Power BI is an advantage.
  • Understanding of key workforce, payroll, and performance metrics.
  • Curious mindset to translate data into meaningful stories and identify reporting improvements.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot trends and data quality issues over time.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support HR and payroll systems, troubleshoot issues, validate data, and assist users in using the platforms effectively.
  • Develop, enhance, and automate dashboards and reporting from workforce and payroll data to support decision-making across NZQA.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to streamline, enhance, and automate processes, solutions, and systems where possible.

You'll maintain system configurations, data integrity, and reliable system functionality, provide technical and operational support to users, troubleshoot and resolve system issues, and lead practical enhancements that improve efficiency and the employee experience.This role uses workforce and payroll data to develop, enhance, and automate a range of HR metrics, dashboards, and reports. You'll turn reliable data into clear insights that demonstrate the performance and overall health of our workforce and support informed decision-making.You will also act as a trusted systems administrator and system owner for HR and payroll platforms, managing configuration, access, data quality, testing, issue resolution, upgrades, and continuous improvement.
