Job summary

McCain Foods (NZ) Limited is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to lead the HS&E strategy for our Timaru manufacturing site. You will report to the Plant Manager, guide a small HS&E team, and partner with operations to embed risk management, compliance and continuous improvement across safety and environmental performance.

You will drive a proactive safety culture, manage regulatory requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or related field.
• Significant leadership experience in Health, Safety & Environment within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of NZ health, safety and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HS&E strategy, objectives and annual improvement plans for the Timaru site.
• Partner with Plant Manager and Site Leadership Team to drive a proactive HS&E culture.
• Coach and develop HS&E professionals and build team capability.
• Oversee HS&E management systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive audits, assurance activities and incident investigations to deliver improvements.
• Embed environmental targets (energy, water, waste, emissions) in site initiatives.
