Job summary

New Zealand Customs Service in Auckland seeks an experienced HRIS and Payroll Advisor to deliver accurate payroll services across a diverse organisation. The role is based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch with flexible home-working up to two days per week and three service leave days.

You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, maintain payroll data, and ensure timesheets are processed on time while collaborating with managers to provide reliable payroll advice and support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience of computerised payroll processing (PayGlobal preferred).
• Experience advising on HRIS and supporting managers.
• Knowledge of Holidays Act, Income Tax Act and ACC.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and managers.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Intermediate level experience with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing.
• Maintain payroll data and ensure timesheets are processed accurately and on time.
• Work in a complex rostered environment providing payroll advice and high-quality service.
• Provide HRIS advice and support to managers.
• Support flexible working arrangements where possible.
