Job summary

The University of Otago is seeking a Data Analyst to prepare HR data for migration to Workday, working with the Data Stream to profile, cleanse and transform data from legacy systems. You will collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT and partners to ensure data quality and successful migration.

The role focuses on developing repeatable workflows, validating data loads, and contributing to improved data management practices in a multi-year transformation program.

Qualifications

• Experience analysing, profiling, cleansing and validating data for migration projects.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills to interrogate large datasets.
• Experience with ETL tools and scripting to build repeatable workflows.
• Experience with relational databases and data formats such as Excel, CSV, JSON, XML.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders; understanding HR/Payroll data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, profile, cleanse and transform HR data for migrating to Workday.
• Develop and maintain repeatable data transformation workflows using SQL and ETL tools.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues with business stakeholders.
• Develop data mappings and transformation rules; support data loads and validation.
• Contribute to improved data quality and data management practices across HR systems.
