Job summary

Daily Bread in Auckland is seeking an organised HR & Compliance Coordinator to support our people and maintain best-in-class food safety standards across cafes, production bakery and distribution.

In this varied role, about 60% of time will be on food safety compliance and 40% on HR support, recruitment, onboarding, payroll and employee relations. You will work with the Head of People & Operations to keep systems compliant and processes smooth.

Qualifications

• HR administration or HR coordination experience required.
• Experience in food safety, quality assurance or compliance preferred.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and administrative skills.

Join the team behind one of Auckland's most loved artisan bakery brands.
Daily Bread is growing, and we're looking for an organised, proactive HR & Compliance Coordinator to support our people and ensure our food safety standards remain best-in-class across our cafés, production bakery and distribution operations.

This is a unique role where approximately 60% of your time will be focused on food safety compliance and 40% on supporting our HR function.

You'll work closely with our Head of People & Operations and become a trusted support person to managers across the business.

About the role

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll help ensure our food safety systems remain compliant while also supporting managers with recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and day-to-day HR matters. If you enjoy organisation, problem solving and working with people while maintaining high compliance standards, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinating internal and external food safety audits
• Maintaining food safety documentation and records
• Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring follow-up
• Supporting stores and production teams to remain audit-ready
• Assisting with staff food safety training
• Maintaining allergen documentation and compliance records
• Working alongside external food safety consultants
• Supporting continuous improvement of food safety systems
• Ensuring compliance with MPI and local council requirements
• Recruitment administration and preparing employment agreements
• Supporting Managers across the business with performance management and employee relations.
• Visa and Immigration administration
• Employee onboarding & offboarding
• Payroll administration
• Coordinating training and probationary reviews
• Maintaining HR policies and compliance documentation

About you

• Previous HR administration or HR Coordinator experience
• Experience in food safety, quality assurance or compliance (preferred)
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence communicating with people at all levels
• Strong administrative and computer skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• A genuine interest in both people and compliance
• Experience within hospitality, manufacturing or food production would be highly regarded
