Job summary

The University of Waikato is seeking a Human Resource Assistant in the People and Capability team. This full-time role supports employee and candidate experiences across HR operations and talent acquisition, based at the Hamilton campus.

You will gain practical HR experience, assist with documentation, respond to enquiries, and contribute to continuous improvement while upholding confidentiality and high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration and a strong customer-service mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and learning new systems.
• Experience with HR systems including Oracle would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the employee and candidate experience across HR processes.
• Assist HR Administrators, HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition.
• Prepare and maintain employment documentation and records.
• Respond to HR and talent acquisition enquiries and maintain confidentiality.
