Job summary

The University of Waikato is seeking a Human Resource Assistant to support the employee and candidate experience across the University, working with HR Administrators, HR Business Partners and the Talent Acquisition team. This role provides exposure to HR operations and talent acquisition, with a view to developing practical experience in HR.

Based at the Hamilton campus, this full-time position offers an opportunity to learn across people processes and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Previous administration experience and a strong customer-service mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and information systems.
• The ability to quickly learn new processes and technologies.
• Experience in HR administration and familiarity with HR systems, including Oracle, would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support employee and candidate experience across the University.
• Work alongside HR Administrators, HR Business Partners and the Talent Acquisition team.
• Provide HR support across HR operations and talent acquisition.
• Prepare and maintain employment documentation and records.
• Respond to HR and talent acquisition enquiries and help ensure information is managed accurately and professionally.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the employee experience.
