Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a capable HR Advisor to join the People and Capability team of a large, values-led organisation. You will balance advisory duties with hands-on HR delivery, supporting two busy business areas and guiding employee changes, recruitment and documentation with accuracy.

Reporting to a Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll operate with sound judgement in a fast-paced environment, handling onboarding, payroll inputs, employee relations and broader people initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in Human Resources.
• Broad generalist experience across recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes.
• Experience providing practical HR advice and support to managers.
• Some exposure to employee relations and knowledge of NZ employment legislation.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume operational environments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
• Prepare employment agreements, offers, variation letters and employee documentation.
• Manage employee changes, fixed-term expiries and offboarding requirements.
• Support high-volume recruitment, including advertising, screening, interviews and pre-employment checks.
• Coordinate offers and onboarding for a positive new-hire experience.
• Prepare payroll information for weekly payroll cycles.
• Respond to queries about leave, benefits, policies and processes.
• Support employee relations matters including absence, performance and misconduct.
• Assist with investigations, consultations and formal meetings.
• Maintain accurate employee records and regular HR data checks.
• Monitor employee visas and immigration compliance.
• Contribute to HR projects, wellbeing initiatives and process improvements.
• Support implementation and transition to a new HRIS.
