Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities in Whanganui is seeking a Housing Support Manager to work directly with customers and whānau, building enriching and enduring relationships to ensure housing and wellbeing needs are met and adapted over time.

You will support low and medium needs customers, handle challenging conversations, visit clients at Kāinga Ora homes, travel across the region, and assist with rent arrears and debt recovery while staying aligned with our values.

Qualifications

• Ability to build strong relationships with customers and whānau.
• Skilled at de-escalating highly emotional situations.
• Experience with rent arrears and debt recovery.
• Willingness to travel across the local region.
• Cultural awareness, especially with Māori and Pasifika.
• Full NZ driver's licence will be required.

Responsibilities

• Build enriching and enduring relationships with customers and whānau.
• Support housing and wellbeing needs and adapt as circumstances change.
• Visit Kāinga Ora homes and attend stakeholder meetings.
• Address rent arrears and debt recovery processes.
• Travel around the local area as required.
