Job summary

Auckland City Mission – Te Tāpui Atawhai is seeking a Housing Keyworker to support clients in accessing and sustaining housing, while addressing barriers and needs from a strengths-based perspective.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying Housing First and Tāiki principles, with mentoring and on-the-job development to support clients toward greater wellbeing and independence.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in social work or health science or equivalent experience.
• Capacity to demonstrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Mission values.
• Ability to engage successfully with a range of clients and assist with completing assessments.
• Willingness to advocate for improved social conditions and fair sharing of community resources.
• Full clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to access and retain housing, sustain tenancies and address barriers to tenancy sustainment.
• Develop consistent engagement with clients in a planned and coordinated way.
• Provide reviews guided by the Street to Home assessment framework to understand client needs.
• Deliver outreach and case-management services to people experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability.
• Develop collaborative, goal-oriented, time-referenced action plans that encourage confidence, accountability and independence.
