Job summary

Purapura Whetū Trust, through the Tū Manawa Ora programme, seeks an Aftercare Kaimahi with a Housing and Employment focus to support tangata whaiora as they reintegrate after completing Residential addiction support programmes.

Based primarily in the community with residential services at Greers Road, you will help set housing and employment goals, build connections with providers, and run one-to-one or group sessions in a mana-enhancing, trauma-informed way.

Qualifications

• Completed a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent.
• Experience with tangata whaiora facing offending, AOD mental health and/or trauma challenges.
• Strong organisational skills for a busy workload.
• Strong team player and communicator.
• Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori/te reo.
• Non-judgmental approach to working with tangata whaiora.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing and employment support for tangata whaiora.
• Proactively build networks with housing and employment providers.
• Facilitate one-to-one or group sessions with tangata whaiora from AOD programmes.
• Practice mana-enhancing, trauma-informed care.
• Support plans prioritising housing and employment goals.
• Connect tangata whaiora with other agencies and supporters.
• Monitor risk and safety for tangata whaiora and the team.
