Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato Hospital is seeking a proactive Retail Supervisor to lead our Nutrition & Food Service Retail Team. You will oversee daily retail operations, ensure food safety compliance, and optimise service for patients, visitors and staff across five on-site outlets.

You will supervise, coach and coordinate staff, manage stock and ordering, and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety and customer experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• NZ residency and ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Experience supervising and training hospitality staff.
• Strong customer service and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Hands-on approach to maintaining food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and support food service staff.
• Coordinate daily operations and staffing requirements for our three smaller retail outlets.
• Ensure food production and service meet quality and timing expectations.
• Manage food ordering, stock control, and receiving of goods.
• Monitor and verify food safety systems and corrective actions.
• Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
