Job summary

Te Kura is seeking a dedicated Teacher Aide to support a student in home-based learning in Gisborne. This part-time role is 16.5 hours per week, offering flexible scheduling and a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The role involves one-on-one and small group support, adapting lessons and using assistive tech as needed. You will work closely with Kaiako, whānau, and the student to progress learning goals aligned with an IEP, maintaining accurate progress notes and participating in team

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teacher Aide or in a similar role supporting ākonga with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and staff.
• Patience, flexibility and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support ākonga with learning per their IEP.
• Assist Kaiako in delivering lessons and adapting materials.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to achieve learning goals.
