Awanui Labs is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician specialising in Histology for a fixed term, part-time role based at Hutt Hospital in Wellington's Hutt Valley. The position requires accuracy, teamwork and a strong customer focus, with 64 hours per fortnight across day/night shifts.

Candidates should have registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (or be in process) and an Annual Practising Certificate; immunohistochemistry experience is desirable.

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process and store specimens correctly.
• Organise and prioritise workload to meet turnaround times.
• Perform laboratory procedures per protocols.
• Operate equipment and perform QC checks.
• Report equipment or process issues.
• Use LIS to generate worklists and enter data.
