Job Description

About the Role

CRV is seeking a reliable, motivated individual to join our Herd Testing team as a casual Driver and Assistant over the 2026/27 season (September 2026 – May 2027) covering the Winton / Southland area.

As a Herd Test Driver and Assistant, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering herd test equipment and milk samples as well as assisting the Herd Test Technician with work on dairy farms setting up herd testing equipment, collecting milk samples during milking, and accurately recording herd data using electronic systems.

Because work is tied to the dairy season, some weeks are full-on, others quieter, and no two weeks look the same. We're looking for someone flexible who can flow with the demand, can adapt their schedule to match and enjoys a role that keeps things interesting rather than following the same routine every day.

Work is carried out around milking times and during seasonal demand, with early starts, travelling, and overnight stays away from home.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Strong organisational and time management skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
• Confidence using technology and mobile data systems
• Professional, reliable, and self-motivated approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with farmers
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working around livestock and in dairy shed environments
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings and seasonal peaks
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required

CRV is part of a global brand that is committed to improving the future of the dairy industry. This role offers:

• CRV vehicle provided for work purposes
• Full training and ongoing support
• Supportive team environment
• Opportunity to work within New Zealand's dairy industry

If you enjoy working outdoors, are highly organised, and can work independently while delivering accurate results, we'd love to hear from you.

All applicants for this position must be eligible to work in NZ.
