Job summary

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) invites applications for Herd Test Technicians to deliver and install herd testing equipment in dairy sheds across the region. This fast-paced, outdoor role requires good time management and physical strength, with duties tracking samples and equipment.

Two positions are available: Palmerston North and Wairarapa/Tararua region. Casual roles to cover the seasonal peak for around nine months, offering extra leave days and the chance to return each season in

About The Role

Our Herd Test Technicians use LIC vehicles to deliver and install Herd Testing equipment in dairy sheds throughout the region. They then return the following day to collect the completed samples and equipment. This is a fast-paced role which requires excellent time management skills and physical strength as handling heavy equipment is a must.

We have one position based in Palmerston north and one position based in the Wairarapa/ Tararua region. These are casual roles to support with cover over the seasonal peak for around 9 months. The role will suit individuals who love being outdoors and have flexibility with their working hours.

About You

To hit the ground running in this role, you will ideally know your way around a milking shed and have a reasonable level of fitness and physical strength. Other key attributes are:

• A clean full Class 1 driver's licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Being self-motivated, professional, and reliable.
• Exceptional time management abilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility with working hours and locations within the specific region.
