Job summary

Oceana Gold in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team near Waihi. This role offers a rotating 7 days on, 7 days off roster, opportunities to work with loaders, drills, haul trucks and ancillary plant, and a chance to live close to beaches with easy access to Hamilton, Tauranga and Auckland.

Qualifications

• Qualified Heavy Diesel mechanic with mining or similar industry experience.
• Experience with underground mining equipment preferred.
• Willingness to work a 7-on/7-off roster.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of preventative and breakdown maintenance tasks on mining equipment including Loaders, Development/Production Drills, Haul Trucks and Ancillary Plant and Equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is mechanically and electronically maintained in accordance with site policies and procedures.
• Complete scheduled tasks and service inspections to a high standard of quality and ensure safety is not compromised.
• Maintain legible and accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Source technical information from OEM manuals, technical bulletins, and service documentation.
• Actively promote, seek out and participate in drives that will lead to improvements in safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
