Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Dunedin seeks a Business Performance Analyst to turn operational and financial data into actionable insights, supporting sustainability and service performance across Hospital and Specialist Services.

You'll translate complex data into dashboards and reports for leaders and clinicians, collaborate with clinical, operational, and corporate teams, and help drive improvement initiatives from analysis through benefits realisation.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing complex operational or business data and presenting insights to non-technical audiences.
• Strong reporting and visualisation skills, ideally with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Experience supporting projects, tracking actions, risks and milestones.
• Ability to collaborate with clinical, operational and corporate teams to achieve shared outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse operational, financial and service data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop reports, dashboards and visualisations that provide clear, actionable insights for leaders and clinicians.
• Support improvement initiatives from initial analysis through to implementation and benefits realisation.
• Maintain project plans, action logs, risks and milestones to keep key programmes on track.
• Investigate demand, capacity, productivity and performance challenges to support evidence-based decision making.
• Contribute to workshops, performance reviews and improvement activities that enhance healthcare delivery across the district.
