Job summary

Oceania is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our teams across sites in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. We offer opportunities for full-time, part-time or casual work across our villages, with emphasis on dignity, independence and comfort for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Healthcare Assistant, caregiver or similar care role.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to caring for older adults.
• Clear communication skills and strong team-focused mindset.
• Commitment to safety, dignity and resident-centred care.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care maintaining dignity, privacy and comfort.
• Support residents with daily activities: hygiene, mobility, nutrition, hydration.
• Observe and respond to residents’ physical and emotional needs, escalate as needed.
• Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and families/whānau.
• Create a safe, clean, welcoming environment promoting wellbeing and independence.
• Follow care plans and work with Registered Nurses for high-quality care.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families and the team.
• Maintain health, safety and infection control practices.

What you’ll be doing:
