Job summary

Greenlane Childcare Centre is a privately owned, community-focused centre in Auckland that provides care for children aged 3 months to 5 years. As the team leader of the Koru room, you will work with two other kaiako to guide a small team, supporting nurturing learning experiences and strong relationships with tamariki and whānau.

Qualifications

• Registered ECE teacher with NZ credentials.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Koru room team of kaiako and provide nurturing, responsive care for up to 12 tamariki.
• Mentor and support staff to maintain high standards of practice and professional growth.
• Collaborate with whanau and community partners to support children's transitions and learning.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that aligns with centre values.

Job description

Since 1971, we've provided a home away from home where children can learn, be loved, and have fun. Licensed for 48 children aged 3 months to 5 years across two rooms.

As the team leader of our Koru room, you will work alongside two other kaiako, leading a team that provides nurturing, responsive care for up to 12 tamariki.

We are a privately owned, community-focused centre with strong, long-standing relationships with our local area. We also enjoy a close connection with our local primary school, helping to support children's transition to school through regular visits. One of the highlights of our programme is our regular excursions to beautiful Cornwall Park. Our Under 2s are fortunate to have two six-seater prams, allowing the whole room to head out together to explore nature, enjoy fresh air, and experience the local community.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine passion for working with children under two.
• Is a fully registered early childhood teacher in New Zealand.
• Has experience in a leadership role within a New Zealand ECE setting and is confident leading, mentoring, and supporting a team.
• Builds warm, responsive relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues.
• Is organised, reflective, and committed to providing high-quality teaching and care.
