Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a technology leader to head Engineering Operations. You will guide a ~six-person team responsible for shared foundations that empower the wider engineering function, driving platforms, tooling, standards and guardrails while ensuring infrastructure reliability and security.

You will report to and partner with the CTO to shape the future operating model, manage change, and strengthen developer experience across platforms.

Qualifications

Proven people leadership of technical teams and specialists.
Background across Cloud, DevOps, Platform, Infrastructure or related disciplines.
Experience leading multidisciplinary technology functions.
Strong prioritisation skills across competing technical and business demands.
Experience leading teams through organisational or operating-model change.
Technical credibility across CI/CD, developer experience, cloud/infrastructure and operational reliability.
Exposure to security, governance or regulated environments; ISO 27001 experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of approximately six responsible for shared foundations that enable the wider engineering organisation.
Evolve Engineering Operations toward developer enablement, shared platforms, tooling, standards and guardrails.
Retain oversight of infrastructure, operational reliability and security.
Collaborate with the CTO to shape the function and strategy.
