Job description

The Eden Park Trust - Auckland, North Island

Eden Park is New Zealand's national stadium, an iconic venue with over 120 years of history. We host world-class sporting events, concerts, cultural festivals, film and television productions, and corporate functions, welcoming more than half a million fans and visitors annually. With a reputation for excellence, we take pride in creating unforgettable experiences and delivering strong commercial outcomes that support the future of New Zealand's national stadium.

About the Role

The Eden Park Trust is seeking a practical, reliable and hands-on Handyman / General Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team.

Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, this role is responsible for carrying out a wide range of general maintenance, repair and presentation work across the Eden Park precinct.

You will help ensure our buildings, event spaces, offices, public areas and back-of-house facilities are safe, functional and well presented. This is a varied and active role involving routine maintenance, minor repairs, painting and touch-up work, furniture repairs, basic carpentry, and supporting the Facilities team with venue readiness before and after events.

No two days are the same. You could be repairing a door or wall, completing painting touch-ups, setting up a space for an event, responding to a maintenance request or helping prepare the venue for a major sporting fixture, concert, corporate function or community event.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a practical, hands-on and proactive person who takes pride in high-quality work and enjoys working in a busy venue environment.

Ideally you'll bring:

  • At least five years' experience in general maintenance, handyman services, facilities, building services or a similar practical trade-based role.
  • Practical skills in areas such as basic carpentry, painting, patching, repairs and general building maintenance.
  • Confidence using a range of hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and resolve minor maintenance issues.
  • A high standard of attention to detail and pride in venue presentation.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly to changing operational requirements.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • A proactive, reliable and solutions-focused approach.
  • A commitment to health, safety and safe work practices.
  • A full New Zealand drivers licence.
  • Forklift and Scissor lift experience
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required around Eden Park's event schedule.
