Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer for a 3–6 month contract in Auckland to own a high-impact platform project. You will design and build a configuration and deployment solution across Windows Server, from discovery to production handover.

The role requires strong platform engineering experience, Windows Server expertise, and proficiency in C#, .NET, Java or Python, with familiarity in deployment tooling and security-focused design.

Qualifications

• Strong Platform Engineering / Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Hands-on Windows Server expertise.
• Software development experience with C#, .NET, Java or Python.
• Experience building deployment, automation, infrastructure or configuration-management tooling.
• Strong understanding of reliability, monitoring, logging, security and operational support.
• Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes and/or Volt would be beneficial.
• SRE, DevOps or production platform experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess the existing environment and identify technical risks and opportunities.
• Design and build configuration management and deployment tooling for Windows Server.
• Develop robust automation with appropriate logging, monitoring, error handling and recovery.
• Recommend the right architecture and technology stack, with a focus on security and maintainability.
• Work closely with developers and take ownership through to production implementation.
• Document the solution and support knowledge transfer.
