Job summary

Nestlé is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join our team on a day shift (7:30AM-4:00PM). You will keep production lines running safely and reliably, perform maintenance work orders, troubleshoot and repair food processing and packaging equipment, and ensure compliance with GMP, H&S and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification with strong maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance systems.
• Safety-focused, quality-driven and results-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with automated production and packaging equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid NZ work visa.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance work orders accurately and on time, with proper reporting and close-out.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve food processing, utilities and packaging equipment.
• Ensure safe, reliable plant operations and compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Maintain maintenance records using the site's CMMS.
• Manage parts and follow store procedures.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to TPM and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, breakdown analysis).
• Work with operators to build equipment care and reliability knowledge.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery.
