Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Fitter/Installer to join our busy engineering team in Cambridge. This hands-on role offers a mix of workshop and site work with an immediate start for the right candidate.

You will read engineering drawings, assemble and install components, and conduct maintenance to high standards. The position requires previous fitting experience, the ability to work from drawings, and a full Class 1 licence.

Qualifications

• Previous fitting or mechanical assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Full Class 1 driver's licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
• Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with workshop repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.
• Assemble, align, install, and repair metal components.
• Read and interpret engineering specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
• Carry out mechanical assembly and fitting tasks.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on engineering components.
• Work both in the workshop and on-site as required.
• Safely operate hand and power tools.
• Support general engineering and construction-related activities.
