Job summary

Pioneer Energy Group in Alexandra, Central Otago, is seeking a Group CFO to steer financial governance across its generation, retail and waste-diversion entities. This hands-on role reports to the CEO and sits on the executive team, providing strategic input to the Board and shareholders.

You will lead capital allocation, funding, treasury and risk management, shaping Pioneer’s growth strategy over a 10–20 year horizon.

Qualifications

• Seasoned CFO with energy sector experience or equivalent asset-heavy business leadership.
• Proven ability to structure debt and equity for long-term growth.
• Collaborative leader with values-driven approach and high trust.

Responsibilities

• Own the Group's financial performance, reporting and governance across all entities.
• Lead capital allocation, funding, treasury and banking to support Pioneer’s growth.
• Own Pioneer’s risk framework and act as trusted partner to the CEO and Board.
