Job summary

RealNZ is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Queenstown. This role balances technical accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement in a multi-entity environment.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, support year-end statements, and oversee GST, FBT, and income tax obligations while driving process optimisations. CA/CPA qualification or in progress, 3+ years experience, IFRS knowledge, and ERP experience (Navision/Business Central)

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or working towards it.
• 3+ years of experience in financial accounting or audit.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS / NZ IFRS accounting standards.
• Exposure to direct and indirect tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting financial reporting.
• Maintaining general ledger integrity, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting year-end financial statements, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Assisting with tax obligations including GST, FBT, and income tax.
• Analysing financial information and supporting decision-making across the business.
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and controls.
